Here’s an example of why the Waiting Room at St Botolph’s is so special, and why we will miss it when it is gone:
JAM for MS-UK is being staged at the venue on Saturday 8th October. This is a fundraiser for the Colchester based charity that supports and raises awareness of Multiple Sclerosis.
The Waiting Room will be welcoming live music on the night from Mollys Daggers, TopDeck Allstars, Josh Sandifer (Animal Noise) and Blue Orchids.
There will also be DJ sets from Just Jones and Stereofreakz, plus local craft beers and spicy food.
There is quite a backstory behind the fundraiser and the local folk involved. The gig is part of Marie Martin’s London Marathon 2017 pledge to MS-UK. This event will be the first in a series of fundraisers across North and Mid Essex.
Marie’s connection to MS is through her friend Ryan Jones who received a diagnosis aged 35. Marie and Ryan were both heavily involved in the first Colchester Free Festival in 2010.
Waiting Room co-founder and Free Festival organiser Marc De’ath adds:
“Ryan and Marie have been personal friends of mine for many years, since the early days they stepped forward to help with Colchester Free Festival.
So when they approached the Waiting Room to do this gig – we jumped at the chance. Make sure you come along and remember be generous!”
JAM for MS-UK runs from 7pm – 1am on 8th October at the Waiting Room.
