Fancy some @firstsite festive fun? As much as we LOVE alliteration here at The Chronic, the answer probably doesn’t start with an f.
Unless FANTASTIC was your favoured response.
Um, fine.
Our friends from the Golden Goose have just announced a special one off Christmas Late session. The evening of 13th December should be in your diaries if you want to explore a more cultural approach to Christmas.
Announced as “art, music and mince pies” the firstsite Winterval evening has… something for everyone – that’s assuming that Mr Everyone likes abstract art, opera and overdosing on minces pies.
I’m Mr Everyone.
You’re Mr Everyone.
WE ARE ALL Mr Everyone.
As well as the ACE gallery space being open, the musical input for the evening has two strands. A live broadcast of The Nutcracker from the Royal Opera House will be beamed into the auditorium to enjoy.
If however you prefer your music on a more hyperlocal and live level, the Quire ensemble from Colchester will be performing Christmas carols.
And how about this for completing that tricky cultural / Christmas crossover:
“We are delighted to be offering a special late night opening for the people of Colchester to enjoy and share with us. As a festive treat we will be offering a special 10% discount to all shoppers in our new retail space, which is packed with great stocking fillers and unique gifts for those special people in our lives.”
Festive, frivolous, um fancy that.
firstsite Late on 13th December starts at 6pm.
Entrance is FREE.
