We’ve blogged before about the brilliance of @firstsite partnering up with Picturehouse Screen Arts to deliver LIVE cultural events from around the world, right here in Sunny Colch. We’re pleased to see this relationship continuing with a new season of cultural events being screened via the Golden Goose to Colchester.
Once again it is worth repeating – this ISN’T a stand-alone screening in the magnificent firstsite auditorium. Each event is a LIVE broadcast from many of the leading art and cultural locations from around the world. We like to think that it makes sense that Colchester is included in this project.
Our friends from firstsite have released the full schedule for the coming year. Heading our way to Sunny Colch comes a programme that takes in the cultural delights of the Salzburg Festival, Glyndebourne and the Metropolitan Opera House in New York.
Every overture, reading or act will be beamed back LIVE to Britain’s Oldest Recorded. If the leading lady splutters into a fit of giggles – and we really hope every now and then that she does – then you won’t miss any of the live mistakes.
In true twinning tradition it would be ACE if the Colchester Free Festival could be broadcast LIVE to the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow. We’re not quite sure what the Comrades would make of Animal Noise, but ballet is the new rock ‘n roll.
Or something.
