Here’s a decent hyperlocal opening for anyone that has an interest in horticulture / food / art – or all three: the Level Best Art Cafe is looking to recruit an Activity Support Officer to work out of the Culver Street East location.
Level Best is a social enterprise that aims to provide life and skills training to adults with learning disabilities. Practical on the job support is often the best approach. The combination of a cafe and an art gallery is a good starting point.
The role will require supporting adults with learning disabilities during the working day. The job requirements are for a passion for horticulture / food / art – or all three… Plus of course the commitment to support folk who just need a helping hand around the town.
Here’s a little more about Level Best and what the social enterprise is trying to achieve in Sunny Colch:
“The mission of the Dacon Trust’s LeveL Best Social Enterprise is to provide quality work and life skills training for its trainees. Through a variety of programmes and services, Level Best will provide realistic pre-vocational and work training opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to promote the development of meaningful and purposeful citizenship skills and sustainable social inclusion.”
The working week at Level Best runs for thirty-seven hours. A job share would be considered. You can access the job spec over here [PDF] – the closing date for applications is 22nd June.
