#Colchester Love In

ColchChronic

And so a HUGE @ColchChronic HELLOOOOO! to @Miss_Schmalice, our 1,000th follower on twitter.

Of course @Miss_Schmalice is just as welcome as the other 999 of the very kind folk who have stuck with The Chronic during some pretty mad, rambling @yourcolchester Full Council LIVE [oooh] tweeting action. It is to our great surprise that we don’t hemorrhage followers during Full Council in the same way that Sir Bob of Sunny Colch sometimes hemorrhages his P & Q’s on certain occasions.

But it’s not a willy measuring contest – and thank the chuffers for that. We are genuinely surprised and grateful to have come this far since appearing on the darker recesses of the hyperlocal modern interweb at the start of the new year.

Nope, it’s all about the communication and collaboration hopefully. The @ColchChronic twitter feed has been opened up to any other like-minded folk around Britain’s Oldest Recorded who want to continue to make this an even better place in which to live and work.

There’s no point in putting down your own hyperlocal patch – you might as well go and bugger off to… well, let’s remain positive, eh Comrades?

Making connections is something that we have been keen to put in place over the past few months. It’s a time draining business, what with proper bills in the real world needing to be paid, and day job[s] forever fighting with our time.

But we’re getting there.

It’s been great to get invited either through twitter or via the blog to events within the town – Diamond Ice, @firstsite openings and even a front row (ish) seat for the likes of Mayor Making. All are greatly received; you are all lovely, lovely people (especially so at Diamond Ice.)

We’ve still got no idea where we’re going with all of this – that was always the plan. Strategic business launches and future growth are for The Suits of this world. The hyperlocal is all about just blogging what comes our way, and celebrating what it around us.

Talk has been mentioned with future projects involving @ColU_Official and @ColchesterArts. Keep ‘em coming – if we can navigate the day job[s] dilemma, then any chance to share and explore what is out there in our town will be gladly taken up.

It’s also worth mentioning the other hyperlocal Sunny Colch media that have been very welcoming and accepting as to what we are trying to achieve. There’s even been a large amount of co-operation – ACE.

@ColchCircleMag, @The Gazette, @CoolColchester @RadioWivenhoe, @HospitalRadioCo – all are most worthy of a follow, all collectively helping to share hyperlocal information about the place that we call home.

Plus don’t forget our twitter list of hyperlocal Colchester [ish] traders. We’re happy to add any local businesses that are using twitter to help connect with folk around the town.

…and so welcome to our 1000th Follower, @Miss_Schmalice Spread the love, Sunny Colch. YEAH #Colchester
